This Brown Sugar Smoked Paprika Ham has the perfect balance of sweet and smoky flavors with a caramelized glaze
Course: Main Course

Ingredients

  • 1 1 10lb fully cooked bone-in ham
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 3 tbsp. melted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/2 cup water, for roasting pan

Equipment

  • 1 roasting pan and rack

Method

  1. First pre-heat oven to 325 degrees
  2. Place ham cut side down into a roasting pan and add 1/2 cup of water to the bottom of the pan
  3. Using a sharp knife, lightly score the ham into a diamond pattern
  4. Make the glaze, mixing the brown sugar, paprika, mustard, melted butter, minced garlic, and black pepper. Spread all over the ham
  5. Cover and bake for 1 1/2 - 2 hours or until heated through to 140 degrees internal temp. Remove the foil the last 20 minutes of baking so the glaze can caramelize and form a crust of deliciousness.
  6. Lastly let the ham rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing
