Pickled Red Onions

An easy quick recipe for pickled red onions
Course: Appetizer, Side Dish

Ingredients
  

  • 1 large red onion
  • 1 cup boiling or hot water
  • 3/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 peeled garlic clove

Equipment

  • 1 glass bowl/jar

Method
 

  1. First cut your onion in half and thinly slice.
  2. Next add the onion to a glass bowl or jar, add in boiling water/hot, vinegar, lime juice, sugar, salt, garlic clove, and stir.
  3. Set on counter for 30 minutes then place in refrigerator covered for another 30 minutes or until ready to use.

Notes

  • These pickled red onions are a great topping for tacos, sandwiches, salads, and more.
  • Store in airtight glass bowl or jar in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
